Accounting process documentation

As auditors review areas for organizational risk and financial statement accuracy, they investigate the adoption and practice of related internal control techniques for segregation of duties and access security.

Compliance documentation

Finance managers design processes and workflows to help them comply with regulations, as well as for general adherence to business processes. These are typically documented within an Accounting Policies and Procedures manual and referenced in the staff onboarding process. Policies and Procedures and other critical compliance documentation can be stored in Sage Intacct and easily accessed from relevant dashboards.

Evidence of completion and checklists

Auditors often request documentation of these processes to validate that these processes are effectively designed and that the processes are consistently followed. Sage Intacct’s connected drill-through documents in related workflows, coupled with approvals and audit histories help evidence process adherence. Remote audit is a commonly accepted practice and many organizations elect to allow online view-only access to facilitate review in an end-to-end manner. In addition, Sage Intacct gives finance teams the power and flexibility to define their own processes using custom process checklists.

Checklists can be used for a variety of processes, including the close process, supplier onboarding, and more. They allow finance managers to define the steps in a process and assign owners. Sage Intacct tracks the completion of each step, who completed the step, and the date and time it was completed.
